About Fenacre

Page updated 9th May 2008

Since its inception in the early 1980's the Fenacre affix has been used as a kennel name for Bearded Collies, Border Collies and Welsh Springer Spaniels with this site intended to promote and publicise the dogs at Fenacre.

Irene & Mike

Irene's first dog was a Rough Collie but their first dog together was an English Springer Spaniel called Amba. She was joined later by Huggy Bear and Nikki, both crossbreeds.

The first real show dog arrived in the form of a Bearded Collie, named Meg, who started a relationship with the breed that ran from 1980 until 2005.

In 1990 the first Border Collie entered the scene in the form of  Anna Mae who was to become the mother of James and they were joined later by Gina who was to produce Harry and Becky.

In October 2007 Gina, Harry and Becky were joined by Ruby, a Welsh Springer Spaniel, who was bred by Andrea.

Irene and Mike both really enjoy showing all their dogs as well as judging Border Collies and a few other breeds in the pastoral group.

Part of the garden at Irene and Mike's home in Lincolnshire where there is plenty of room for the dogs to run and stretch their legs when they are unable to get them down to the local beach for a walk.

From the bungalow uninterrupted views across fields on three sides, a huge, beautiful and sometimes dramatic skyline, together with a wonderful view of the Linconshire Wolds with it's spectacular sunsets make this a lovely place to live.

Andrea

Andrea lives on the edge of Dartmoor, Devon with her husband Richard and two dogs, Jess and Jess' son Ronnie , who is the brother of Irene & Mike's Ruby. Having owned dogs since the 80's Andrea has had reasonable success in the show ring although family ties and work committments have precluded her from competing as seriously as she would wish.

Andrea writes "The birth of Jess' first litter was an exciting time for us this year. It was our first litter as well and even though it was hard work, it was also an extremely rewarding and proud time for all of us. Irene very kindly came down and helped with the birth of 8 gorgeous pups from which we kept two lovely boys, Ronny, who lives with me and Daniel, who lives with my Mum and Dad. They are both very much loved and a big part of both families. Keep watching this site for show results."
